Our story begins when we matched on Hinge on December 5th, 2021. It then ended as quickly as it began, because Laura did not reply to Ethyn’s message… A few weeks passed, and our story begins again because we matched on Bumble! Two dating apps, two matches – it seemed like the universe was determined to bring us together! This time, Laura seized the opportunity and messaged Ethyn, playfully pointing out the serendipity of our double match! And just like that, plans for our first date were set in motion! On Christmas Eve 2021, Ethyn brought us hot chocolates (because believe it or not, neither of us drink coffee) and we walked around the neighborhood in Santa Monica. What we both thought would be a quick one hour date turned into a four hour date walking all around the city and ended with us watching the sunset at the bluffs together. We talked about everything on that first date, and we haven’t stopped talking since! While it sounds incredibly cheesy, we both had a feeling that this was the start of something new (if you know, you know). Since our first date we’ve fallen in love, moved in together, cheered on the Dodgers and Lakers more times than we can count, enjoyed our fair share of theater nights, and hosted our friends for Shabbat dinners. We’ve also traveled all over together! We have traveled to Nashville, Austin, New Orleans, Miami, Maryland, New York, Puerto Rico, Australia, and Bali! And every Christmas Eve, we sip on hot chocolates, as a sweet reminder of where our story began :) Flash forward to July 29th 2023, when Ethyn proposed to Laura in the Santa Monica neighborhood, recreating our very first date! It was made even more special because all of our friends and family surprised us to celebrate our engagement. And now, as we gear up for the big day, we're so excited to have you join us in celebrating our love story at our wedding! We can’t wait to see you on the dance floor!
